Texas-based furniture studio Pine ‘n Paint, led for 10 years by Tommy Lewis, crafts colorful, quality, lasting, one-of-a-kind furniture that will seem custom-made to brighten and dignify any space in your home or office. Inspired by Shaker, Mennonite, and other folk designs, this furniture is unmistakably one-of-a-kind. The love and care from each craftsperson applying eight different finishes – including painting, detailing, combing, distressing, burn holeing, and urethaning – is palpable. Each wooden slat and piece of furniture is hand-planed to achieve a distinctive surface, and the sander, or quality control craftsman, hand sands after each of the three coats of water-based lacquer. These rich, deep finishes make the furniture both durable and beautiful. Many pieces are decorated with layers of wood detailing and adorned with tacks and marbles to add color, design, and dimension. Materials are responsibly sourced and many times repurposed.
